Payments M&A This Week: Francisco Partners Closes Weave, Tech Mahindra Takes Finastra Cash Management, Ramp Buys Vesto (Oct 20 to Oct 27, 2026) | 733Park insights

Every week I pull the deals that matter to the owners I work with: payments companies, ISOs, and vertical SaaS businesses. Here is the week of October 20 to October 27, 2026. The full list lives on the 733Park Deal Tracker.

Francisco Partners closes its $650 million take-private of Weave

Francisco Partners completed the all-cash deal on October 26. Weave sells a patient engagement and payments platform to more than 40,000 healthcare practice locations: phones, texting, scheduling, insurance checks, and payment collection in one system. Stockholders got $7.40 a share, about a 34 percent premium to the price before the August announcement, and the stock is off the NYSE.

Why it matters: This is the clearest signal of the year that private equity will pay a real premium for vertical software when payments are wired into the workflow. If you run a vertical SaaS business in the $5M to $350M range and payments are a growing share of revenue, buyers are modeling you the same way, just at a smaller number.

Tech Mahindra buys Finastra's cash management suite

Tech Mahindra agreed on October 26 to buy Finastra's cash management product suite. Terms were not disclosed. The deal covers Fusion Cash Management, Fusion Virtual Accounts, and Fusion Liquidity Management, plus related IP such as CashPlus, cash-flow forecasting, payables, receivables, and virtual accounts. These are the bank-side tools that move and track corporate money.

Why it matters: A large seller carving out a product line is the same playbook a founder uses when one division is worth more to someone else than it is inside the company. If you own a business with a product that does not fit the core, a carve-out can be the cleanest exit for that piece.

Ramp acquires Vesto

Ramp acquired Vesto, a treasury management platform, on October 21. Terms were not disclosed. Vesto, founded in New York in 2022, gives businesses one dashboard across all their bank accounts. Ramp will fold it in so customers can see Ramp checking and investment balances next to accounts at more than 12,000 other institutions, with cash-flow forecasting on top. The founder joins Ramp's product team.

Why it matters: Ramp keeps buying small, focused teams to add one feature at a time. A four-year-old company with a working product and a few hundred customers is an acquisition target for the big spend platforms. Build the thing they cannot build quickly, and they will come to you.

Mercury Tech Partners and POS Global Concepts merge

The two companies announced on October 20 that they are combining under the Mercury Tech Group brand, effective January 1, 2027. Terms were not disclosed. Mercury Tech Partners handles nationwide technology deployment for multi-site operators. POS Global Concepts brings the payment technology side. The combined company will sell deployment, payments, networking, logistics, and lifecycle services to multi-location businesses. Both CEOs stay on through the transition.

Why it matters: This is the kind of deal that never makes the front page but happens every week in the POS and ISO world. Two owners with complementary books combine to get scale and a bigger story for the next buyer. If you are a POS dealer or ISO under $20M in value, a merger of equals can be the step that gets you to a price worth selling at.

Standard Chartered acquires Zodia Custody

Standard Chartered agreed on October 22 to acquire Zodia Custody, its digital asset custody venture. The fee was not disclosed. Zodia Custody was set up in 2020 as a joint venture between SC Ventures and Northern Trust. It provides institutional custody, transaction, and settlement services for digital assets and holds regulated entities in Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, the UAE, and Luxembourg.

Why it matters: Banks are pulling the crypto and stablecoin plumbing they once kept at arm's length back inside the house. Payments companies with stablecoin settlement or custody capability now have bank buyers, not just crypto buyers, on the list.

Visa and Fireblocks: reported talks, denied

Axios reported on October 22 that Visa was in late-stage talks to buy Fireblocks for about $2.5 billion. Fireblocks said the report was "not true at present time." Visa declined to comment. Fireblocks provides institutional crypto custody and stablecoin infrastructure and launched a stablecoin payments network in 2025 with more than 40 participants. It was last valued at $8 billion in 2022. Treat this as reported, not announced.

Why it matters: Even if nothing closes, the networks are shopping for stablecoin rails at prices well below the last private round. Sellers in the space should expect buyers to anchor on today's number, not the 2022 valuation.

Prism Data raises $20 million

Prism Data announced a $20 million Series A on October 21, led by Story Ventures, with FINTOP, Core VC, Obvious Ventures, 1st & Main Growth Partners, and Mana Ventures. Prism Data provides cash-flow underwriting and credit analytics, distributed through Equifax, Plaid, and LexisNexis. It says lender requests to its API grew more than 100-fold over two years and counts three of the five largest U.S. fintech lenders as clients.

Why it matters: Capital is flowing to the data layer under lending and payments. Buyers who want underwriting data tend to acquire it once the venture money proves the model, so this is a future target list as much as a funding story.

I did not find a U.S. merchant acquirer, ISO, or payfac transaction announced this week beyond the Mercury Tech combination.
